Dove x Crumbl Strawberry Crumb Cake Body Scrub is one of the limited-edition drops from the Dove X Crumbl Collaboration that’s set to officially arrive at Walmart on February 1st. As you know from my past rants this collection has been in and out of stock and of course, Tiktok flippers took full advantage and have been selling the collection for well above retail price. I managed to purchase the Strawberry Crumb Cake Body Scrub as well as the Lemon Glaze Body Wash and Scrub on Walmart’s website. According to reports the collection will be available starting next month but as I said it’s been in and out of stock on the website. I do know the deodorants are not aren’t so popular and all of them are in stock!

Last year Dove launched a Holiday Treats Collection that was a huge hit and this year they brought back the collection with new scents like Pecan Butter Crunch and Gingerbread Delight. They also, launched some a line of Men’s Deodorants in scents like Hot Toddy and Chocolate Mint Martini. Needless to say Dove is riding this high hard and I suspect we’ll see more LE Collections like this in the works espeially considering how well this Crumbl Collection is doing.

Dove x Crumbl Strawberry Crumb Cake is Giving Wet Dog

I do think the Dove Holiday Treats Collection was hit or miss. Some scents like Hot Cocoa Swirl were amazing and others like Gingerbread Delight and Sugar Cookie are just ok.

And it seems the Dove x Crumbl Collection seems to have the same inconsistencies. I really liked the Lemon Glaze scent. It has that cookie element combined with a subtle lemon. I haven’t smelled Confetti Cake as of yet but I did manage Dove x Crumbl Strawberry Crumb Cake Body Scrub and hated it. I dunno if it’s just the scrub or if the body wash smells the same as scents can translate a differently across products sometimes. I know the scrub is awful. Avoid at all costs. It smells like wet dog to me.

According to Dove it has notes of strawberry cookie topped with vanilla glaze and buttery crumbs. I get the strawberry and there’s a hint of a cheesecake-like element which makes it smell like strawberry cheesecake. Ok, we’re off to a good start here…! But wait, what’s that? There’s some sort of weird musk element in the background that does NOT combine well with the strawberry. It smells like funky wet dog with strawberries. No bueno.

The actual scrub formula is the same. I like a grainer scrub but I can’t deny that Dove does a luxurious one for your buck. It’s thick, super creamy, moisturizing, and has very fine grains. It turns into a rich lather when water is added. Sadly, the scent just isn’t working for me though!

Dove x Crumbl Strawberry Crumb Cake should be launching soon at stores but I’d highly recommend doing a sniff taste on this one when your store gets it as it’s not a safe blindbuy!

Is Locking Up Products Hurting Sales? Walgreens Says It Sure Does!

Today Walgreens reports that locking up products is hurting their sales. Is anyone surprised? I’m not! As you know Walmart started the trend of locking up a variety of products to deter shoplifters from stealing them and later on were allegedly sued because of it.

Soon after the pandemic ended and lockdown was lifted we saw more and more stores doing the same. Walmart, Target, Walgreens, everyone was locking up a selection of products like deodorant, toothpaste, body lotions, skincare, and more. I always found it rather ironic that they’d lock up the more random items and the entire four or more aisles of makeup never had a lock in place at any of my stores. I guess everyday essentials are more popular with shoplifters.

I’m sure they’re stores are losing a lot less money now that these items are locked up but I fully expected them lose more from the average, everyday customer who had little to not patience to browse items that were locked behind plexiglas. And let’s not forget having to actually wait for someone to come and unlock the case…! That’s a whole other drama. I dunno how your stores are but I literally have to wait 10 minutes or longer to get toothpaste. Once it was as long as twenty minutes at Target. I never went back to that particular Target because time is something you can never get back. Use it wisely and waiting for toothpaste for twenty minutes is not a wise use of your time.

Back in November I know Walmart was playing with the idea of allowing customers to unlock cases with their cell phone. I personally never saw that option available at my stores. I do know that I’m one of the customers that just isn’t interested in shopping at a store where a majority of what I need is under lock and key. I either go to a different store or buy it online.

Apparently, Walgreens reported an operating loss of $245 million for the quarter in comparison to $39 million for the same quarter one year earlier. Granted, this isn’t all loss due to locked up products but that’s a major loss and could account for the reason Walgreens has plans to close hundreds of stores this year.

It just doesn’t surprise me that locking products up would result in loss sales and I don’t understand how retailers didn’t think that would be an issue. Consumers want to experience of shopping and that means touching an item, maybe even stealing a little sniff of the shampoo they want to buy, or reading the back of the label. That’s impossible to do with products locked up. Not to mention people who work at these stores are already super busy! Having them race around trying to unlock cases plus do a million other things is crazy. Is it any wonder stores are losing sales because of this?

What do you think of the current lockdown situation in stores? I personally hate it.

Yves Saint Laurent Make Me Blush 24H Buildable Powder Blush Keeping It Real with This Price Tag

Yves Saint Laurent Make Me Blush 24H Buildable Powder Blush are a new, permanent range of powder blushes available in seven shade selections and two finishes of silky satin and soft matte that are available now for Spring 2025. Can we just take a minute before discussing the price to admire and swoon over the shade Restless Rose which is a gorgeous peachy pink with a satin finish? I don’t really love matte or satin blushes! I prefer a little glow or shimmer in my blush but this shade is gorgeous! It looks like a bit of a brighter shade of NARS Orgasm. I can see myself purchasing this one even though I have enough peachy pink blushes to last me a life time.

Also, can we just take a second to discuss the price tag on these? These are $45 each for 0.17 oz. That isn’t a huge amount of blush but also, YSL is a luxury beauty brand and $45 isn’t BAD at all especially when brands like Tom Ford have hiked their blushes up to nearly $100! I mean, right now, even mid-range brands are charging $30+ for a blush! I’m giving props to YSL for keeping the price within a good range. It isn’t cheap like I said but also, it isn’t hiked up to some obscene amount either.

I do wish we could see more luminous blushes for Spring though. All the latest blush drops seem to me a flat matte or satin. Le sigh! I just want a little glow for the warmer weather please? That being said I think Restless Rose is coming home with me!

Shades:

  • Pink Voltage (cool vibrant pink matte)
  • Berry Bang (pink raspberry matte)
  • Peachy Nude (warm teracotta matte)
  • Babydoll Pink (cool baby pink satin)
  • Nude Lavalliere (iconic dusty pink satin)
  • Restless Rose (peachy pink satin)
  • Spicy Berry (deep plum satin)

What do you think of the Yves Saint Laurent Make Me Blush 24H Buildable Powder Blush? Are you loving on these?

I’ve been holding off reviewing Bath and Body Works Perfect in Pink Eau de Parfum because although it released for Holiday 2023 it’s such a perfect Spring and Valentine’s Day fragrance! I realize sales are at a high point during the Holiday season and that might be their logic behind launching it at that time but my opinion is this is a Valentine’s Day perfume! I mean, look at the bottle…! Bright, playful pink in color with a big old bow on tied around the cap! Yeah, it screams Spring, love, and romance!

Bath and Body Works Perfect in Pink is available in a host of different products. We got wallflowers, fragrance mists, body lotions, shower gels, etc…etc..! I ended up purchasing the large bottle of the EDP during one of the numerous Holiday sales Bath and Body Works had last month. I think I got it for 40% off when they had the 40% sitewide sale. I got the 3.4 oz bottle which is typically $70 and I’m going to throw it out there and say that’s WAY too expensive for a bottle of Bath and Body Works anything. I’m not shy about spending money on fragrance but Bath and Body Works perfumes are weak as hell and paying $70 dollars is obscene if it isn’t going last me all damn day. That being said who pays full-price for anything Bath and Body Works? They always have a good sale, deal, or coupons somewhere around the corner.

Anyway, now that we got the $70 elephant out of the way let’s chat about how this smells. This has notes of cherries, pink camellia and whipped almond crème. It’s fruity, it’s sweet, and it’s girly to the max. It smells pink! Like the color pink! It’s just really fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. If you like sweet and fruity you’ll adore this. Keep in mind this isn’t really a complex fragrance. It’s sort of a what you see is what you get fragrance. It opens with a blast of sweet cherries mixed with a soft camellia and it dries down to a soft cherry marzipan-like scent. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less. And I’m ok with that. I think it’s playful, sweet, feminine, and girly! It’s a “I’m a pretty pony” type of scent and I’m ok with that as sometimes you just wanna feel cute and this is the type of fragrance that will make you feel that way!

I haven’t tried it yet but I think it’ll pair up great with Sweetheart Cherry. Speaking of which, I do think this smells a lot like Sweetheart Cherry but the floral note makes it a little less sweet. If Sweetheart Cherry was a little too sweet for you Perfect in Pink might do you better as the camellia softens the sweetness. And can we get a little applause for the bottle? Not only is the bottle adorable but it actually comes in a huge bow box which makes it perfect for gifting!

Bath and Body Works Perfect in Pink Review

But most important, how’s the wear? Eh…! It’s ok. Layering is required. I’d recommend purchasing the body lotion to create a nice scent bubble and the fragrance does wear away fairly fast in my opinion. I can get about five or six mists in and it’ll last me about three to four hours before it disappears. Lotion does help extend that wear considerably.

I wouldn’t recommend dropping $70 on Bath and Body Works Perfect in Pink but if run across a sale or have a coupon it’s absolutely worth picking up! Or you can go a bit cheaper and just grab the fragrance mist.

Bath and Body Works Perfect in Pink is available now. I hope it sticks around! It’s a cute little fragrance!

It’s Been Three Years Since We Discussed Influencers Who Curse

I was watching a Tiktok a week or so ago and was immediately greeted with a F bomb. I swear, it couldn’t be more than three seconds into the video and the word just popped out right away. No greeting, no, hey, welcome to my Tiktok, just a big F bomb. And of course, the cursing only continued after that so we got a three minute Tiktok that has at least twenty curse words in it and I’m having trouble concentrating on what the short form makeup review is about because all the mother f*cking going on is short circuiting my brain.

Am I prude? Am I not liberal or hip enough to watch this mother f*cking Tiktok? Am I just too old to tolerate constant cursing? I do question how I feel about this particular topic sometimes and I thought we could discuss it because we haven’t really talked about makeup reviews that constant having cursing in the in three years. Have your thoughts maybe changed about it? Are you ok with? Do you hate it?

I’m not a conservative person by any means. I’m also, not a deeply religious much to my parents horror. So, cursing in Tiktoks shouldn’t really be a problem for me right? Wrong. I hate it. I find it annoying listening to someone drop F bomb after F bomb. It makes it a harder to concentrate on the makeup review or info about a new product. I don’t mind one f*ck but having every sentence with the word is distracting. I also feel like I can’t take the content seriously.

“This is the best f*cking thing ever! This applies f*cking smooth! This is a great f*cking shade” there has to be some limit to the cursing right? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I don’t want to change anyone’s personality. I mean, some people find some sort of expression in cursing that’s there thing who am I to say how they should talk? But I do think it’s excessive at times and can be a little overkill. I’m also always surprised beauty brands aren’t a little more reserved about how they want their products described. “It’s f*cking amazing!” sounds great in theory but I do wonder if that’s the image they want associated with their brand.

Also, we’re entering into an entirely new generation of beauty lovers and they are a lot younger than I was when I started. You know those ten years olds out there buying Drunk Elephant? I dunno if their introduction to makeup should be with a bunch of cursing. I don’t think enough parents do their due diligence when it comes to monitoring what their kids watching online and I just think some of them might be a little young to be exposed to a ton of cursing.

What do you think? Have your opinions or views changes about cursing in makeup reviews or do you still feel like it’s acceptable or perhaps not?

Do influencers and makeup gurus use the f word a little too much?

eos Shea Better Cashmere Body Wash is Real and Available in Texas

By now you’ve probably heard the good word that that EOS is releasing Body Washes! EOS Shea Better Cashmere Body Wash have been spotted all over Texas at HEB and I believe a few people have seen them at Dollar General. Sadly, I haven’t seen a whisper or a word about these in New Year but I’m patiently awaiting their arrival for the Spring 2025 season. And yes, our beloved Vanilla Cashmere will be available in a body wash as well! Right now at HEB you can get the body washes in Coconut Waters, Fresh & Cozy, and Pink Champagne. These are 16 oz in size and $10 each. I suspect when we get them we’ll see them pop up at Target and Walmart first and later on at other mass retailers like Ulta.

Do I need another body wash? No. I have shower gels to last me now into the next century but I’ll totally purchase eos Shea Better Vanilla Cashmere Body Wash. Who doesn’t love that warm, delicious vanilla scent? It’s so comforting and lovely plus it layers so well with perfumes like Lush Vanillary and Lattafa Maitha Perfume Oil.

I dunno about you but I’m looking forward eos Shea Better Cashmere Body Wash. I probably won’t buy all of them because as I said my shower stash is pretty wild but I’ll def be grabbing the vanilla one!

Revlon Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oil Review & Swatches

Revlon Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oil ($10.49) is a new lip oil that launched with the Revlon Spring 2025 which promises an “intensely hydrating shine” formula in a lightweight and available in six sheer shade selections.

Revlon has been pretty busy releasing some very interesting items this season like their Glimmer Drops Blush and a reinvention of their Super Lustrous Lipgloss. They’re also keeping things fairly affordable. I mean, ten bucks isn’t great for a lip oil but also, I see drugstore makeup going bonkers lately with prices that are $15+ so I see $10 bucks and ironically think ok, that’s not too bad. Granted, a few years ago I felt like this would have been priced at around $7.99 or so. Is it worth $10.49? Absolutely not. This should be at or around $7 at most especially since the formula isn’t revolutionary but sadly, prices are raising and this the new norm for drugstore makeup.

Pricing aside for a while there I thought Revlon was ready to go bankrupt but they seem to have found a will and a way to regain their footing and their very busy releasing new products for Spring with the Revlon Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oil being one of those releases.

Let’s take a look at my review and swatches of the Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oil!

Revlon Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oil is available in six shade selections and arrives in fairly basic packaging that has a white top and a clear barrel. Honestly, if you look fast it almost reminds me of a brow gel! The oil is 0.13 oz in size and promises intense shine, moisture, and a plumping effect. It contains squalane to retain moisture and an oversized applicator for easy application. It’s an ok formula but I actually like Covergirl’s Yummy Gloss much more. Granted, that isn’t a lip oil but it does provide way more shine and moisture in comparison to this formula.

Although it’s available in six shades there is absolutely no reason to buy more than one. That is, of course, unless you become some sort of diehard fan of the formula. The shades are sheer with absolutely no color and apply clear so purchasing more than one is a waste. I got the shades Candy Hearts which is pale pink in color and applies clear. It appears to be fragrance and flavor-free but does have a light plastic-y flavor and fragrance. The smell dissipates as does the flavor and I didn’t notice it at all once it was applied.

Revlon Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oil in Candy Hearts

I wouldn’t say it’s intensely hydrating or shiny but it does provide a nice hint of shine and feels very pleasant on my dry lips providing light moisture. It doesn’t have the consistency of a lipgloss which most lip oils do. This has more of a gel-like consistency with a lightly balmy texture on lips. It doesn’t migrate, move, or feather and does remain where you put it. I struggled a little with the applicator as it’s nice and large but doesn’t saturate well with gloss. I had to plump it a few times to get it saturated well. It does feel a little sticky but nothing insane. It does last on lips for a good three to four hours with is quite long for a lip oil. And during that time it did keep my lips pleasantly moist. I didn’t experience any form of plumping with these nor did I feel like my lips looked fuller using them.

I don’t think Revlon Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oil is groundbreaking nor do I think it’s the best drugstore option out there but if you happen to find it on sale it might be worth a pick up to tuck in your makeup bag for days your lips are feeling a bit dry. I do wish it was more glossy. I felt like other lip oil formulas have a way more shinier appearance than this did.

Revlon Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oi is available now at drugstore. Have you tried it?

Where to buy

Ulta Amazon

Revlon Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oil is a new, permanent selection of lip oils that are $10.49 and 0.13 oz in size. These are formulated with squalane to provide moisture and help to retain it. They promise intense shine, hydration, and plumping. The lip oil has a weird plastic-y flavor and fragrance that did disappear after application. The texture is a gel-like consistency that provides a a small amount of shine, light moisture, and an impression wear for a lip oil at around for hours. I didn’t notice any plumping or fullness to my lips though when using this formula. I did wish they had a bit more glossiness as promised but the shine factor is average.

Pros

  • Wears long without movement.
  • Not badly priced compared to some drugstore prices at the moment.
  • Lightly moisturizing and retained moisture for three to four hours.

Cons

  • All shades are sheer.
  • Not as shiny as marketed.
  • Weird flavor and fragrance.
  • Applicator issues (read above).

Who

Revlon Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oil is a nice pick up if you want a longer wearing lip oil that retains moisture.
